Personal branding leader and guru William Arruda has some very sage advice in this recent video on Personal Branding TV…http://www.personalbranding.tv/eliminate-the-f-word/
In life, you want to eliminate the ‘f-words’ from your vocabulary…but not the word you are thinking…
1. FEAR. Fear stops you and prevents from reaching goals- push a bit out of your comfort zone and see the opportunity which has been hidden. We must GREET the opportunity in order to embrace it.
2. FAIL. Failure is just a step on the path to success. when we move off of this step it is actually a moment of GROWTH for us, since each time we fail we learn something new.
3. FAKE. Being a fake is simply not sustainable. Trying to be something you are not is exhausting. You want to find yourself and be GENUINE, as people can see through inauthenticity.
4. FINE. No one gets excited about things that are fine. We associate things that are average, adequate, and acceptable with ‘fine’. You want people thinking of you in terms of superlatives: Best/outstanding/extraordinary/most and GREAT.
The moral of the story is that we spend to much time focusing on weaknesses and not growing our strengths- we must first learn to understand and embrace our own distinguishing factors and love what we see. Which group of adjectives will YOU embrace for yourself, for your future?
